The Oklahoma City Thunder are open to trading Al Horford at the deadline, but not in a move to simply unload his contract.

The Thunder considered playing Horford as a stretch-five alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as “a key selling point” in the deal to acquire him from the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Thunder don’t have payroll concerns in keeping Horford’s money on the books.

Horford is in Year 2 of a four-year deal, but is only guaranteed for $14.5 million in 22-23.
